Melinda Kirkpatrick is an artist residing at Flowerness Farm in Brimfield, MA, along with her partner, Doug Kirkpatrick. Brimfield is also home to the world renowned Brimfield Antique and Flea Market. Melinda showcases her art at the Brimfield antique shows three times a year, where it has gained grassroots popularity. Her art now appears in stores across New England.
Melinda is excited about her first adventure in Illustrating a book, which she hopes will inspire women of all ages to summon their inner mermaids!

Doug Kirkpatrick

Doug Kirkpatrick, Melinda’s partner, is a corporate and entertainment attorney who left the corporate world to pursue creative endeavors with Melinda. The first book in the Diary of a Secret Mermaid series is Doug’s debut novel. Inspired by summers at the family home on Martha’s Vineyard, Doug fell in love with New England history, mermaids, and the shore.

A Sanctuary for ART and Creativity

Melinda and Doug purchased this old Cape Cod style house in Brimfield, MA in 2020 with a mission to restore the house and the grounds to a sanctuary for art and creativity and as a habitat for conservation. Built in 1780, its first resident was Christopher Ward, a revolutionary war who served in the Continental Army.

Plans include a Christmas Tree Farm, fresh cut flowers and greens, a newly constructed addition to the house, and a barn for a studio, where art shows will abound (when the Brimfield Antique Show is not running).
